San Marcos, Texas – Texas State baseball will look to keep its streak of three consecutive midweek wins alive on Tuesday when the Bobcats visit No. 8 Baylor for a 3:05 p.m. game at Baylor Ballpark in Waco. The meeting will be the second of the year between the two squads.
Tuesday's game was originally scheduled for 6:30 p.m. before being changed due to a time conflict with the Baylor women's basketball team competing in the NCAA Women's Basketball National Championship game.
Texas State (18-10) is coming off a series win last weekend against McNeese State, taking two of three from the Cowboys. The Bobcats also won a pair of midweek games last week against No. 16 Oregon that improved the team's record versus ranked opponents this season to 6-2.
Baylor (22-7) is riding an 11-game winning streak entering Tuesday's game. The Bears are off to their best start in Big 12 play with a 9-0 conference mark.
Redshirt freshman Taylor Black (2-0) will take the mound for Texas State, making his third career start. The righty is 2-0 this season in his first two starts, both coming at Bobcat Ballpark against ranked opponents TCU and Oregon.
