San Marcos, Texas – Southland Conference play resumes this weekend for the Texas State baseball team as the Bobcats head to Hammond, La., for a three-game series against Southeastern Louisiana beginning on Friday, April 13. Texas State and Southeastern Louisiana will play at 6 p.m. on Friday, 2 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday at Alumni Field.
The Bobcats enter the series with a 20-12 overall record and 8-7 mark in the Southland Conference. In the team's latest action, Texas State took a one-run loss against No. 9 Rice in Houston on Tuesday. The Bobcats will look to snap a two-game losing skid entering the weekend slate.
Southeastern Louisiana had its midweek game against Alabama rained out, leaving the Lions record at 22-11 for the season. Just like Texas State, the Lions have a 8-7 record in the Southland Conference, putting both teams in a tie for third place in the tightly-contested league.
So far this season, the Bobcats have managed a 7-8 record in road games, while the Lions have been tough to beat at home, sporting a 15-4 record at Alumni Field.
Texas State has won its last three games against the Lions, including the teams' last matchup a season ago in the Southland Conference Tournament when the Bobcats eliminated Southeastern Louisiana with a 5-2 win at Bobcat Ballpark.
