San Marcos, Texas – Junior pole vaulter Logan Cunningham will make his second straight NCAA Championship appearance as he heads to Nampa, Idaho, to compete in the NCAA Indoor Championships on Friday, March 9. Cunningham will be among 16 others from around the country competing for the pole vault title.

Cunningham qualified for the championships at the Tyson Invitational in Arkansas on February 11 when he set a school indoor record of 5.51 meters (18-01). Heading into the NCAA Championships, Cunningham has the third best mark in the NCAA this season, and is just three-quarters of an inch off of the top mark, set by Arkansas's Andrew Irwin. At the Southland Conference Indoor Championships two weeks ago, he took home a second-place finish, losing out on attempts at the 5.35-meter mark to UT-Arlington's Jeff Rodriguez.

In the 2011 outdoor season, Cunningham made his first ever appearance at the NCAA Championships after grabbing the final qualifying spot at the West Preliminary Rounds. At the NCAA Outdoors, Cunningham was named a First Team All-American after tying for fourth place with a mark of 5.25 meters, which tied his previous career-best.

Clayton Vaughn (UT-Arlington, 60 meters), Romain Martin (UT-Arlington, heptathlon) and Keith Benford (UTSA, high jump) will also join Cunningham in Idaho to represent the Southland Conference.

The men's pole vault is set to begin at 7:30 p.m. CT at Boise State's Jacksons Indoor Track. Live results and video will be available on the NCAA website at www.ncaa.com.
