San Marcos, Texas – The Texas State baseball team will make the trip to Round Rock on Wednesday for its first midweek contest of the season against No. 25 Baylor at Dell Diamond. The Bobcats and Bears will square off for the 61st time in their history when they meet at 6:30 p.m.
The Bobcats (2-1) are looking to improve to 3-1 on the season after winning games against Wichita State and Louisiana-Lafayette last weekend to begin the season. Baylor (3-0) swept their season-opening series against Oral Roberts in Waco last weekend and will have a Tuesday night game against No. 15 TCU before playing Texas State on Wednesday.
The Bobcats and Bears split their season-series last year with Texas State winning in Waco and Baylor winning in San Marcos.
Wednesday's game will mark the first time that Texas State and Baylor have played at a neutral site since head coach Ty Harrington took over the program in 2000.
Live coverage of the game will be available online through www.TxStateBobcats.com where fans can follow along with a radio broadcast from Dell Diamond and also live stats. Frequent updates will also be provided throughout the game on the baseball Twitter account - @TxStateBaseball.
