Former Bobcat Taylor Anderson Hall to Be Inducted in Barbers Hill Sports Hall of Honor

Mont Belvieu, Texas – Barbers Hill Sports Hall of Honor will hold its annual induction on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 6 p.m. in the Sports Hall and high school auditorium on the campus of Barbers Hill HS. Former Texas State softball outfielder Taylor Anderson Hall will be one of two Barbers Hill alumni inducted into the sports hall.

Two-sport collegiate athlete Taylor Hall Anderson chose to finish her collegiate career playing softball after starting her freshman year in college playing tennis.  Hall Anderson was a four-sport athlete for the Barbers Hill Eagles playing tennis, softball, volleyball and golf. 

As a tennis player on The Hill, Hall Anderson earned two varsity letters in 2003 and 2004 and was named All-District those two years.  She was a regional champion in girls' doubles in 2004 and a state finalist that same year.

Hall Anderson chose to play on the varsity softball team her senior year in 2004 and not only lettered in the sport, but was also named All-District.  She was a member of the 2004 regional finalist softball team and led the team in hitting with a .673 batting average and was selected Offensive MVP in 2004.

As a member of the Eagle volleyball team, Hall Anderson was a two-year letterman and a member of the 2003 regional semi-finalist team.  She was named All-District in 2002 and 2003 and was selected for the Dare to Soar Award in 2002.

During her junior year in high school in 2003, she lettered in golf as a member of the varsity golf team.

Collegiately, Hall Anderson started her college athletic playing career playing tennis at Lee College in 2004 and 2005.  She chose to move away from the tennis net and packed her softball bags instead and earned a scholarship to play for Temple Junior College in 2005, 2006 and 2007.  Hall Anderson was named NJCAA All-American in 2006 and 2007 and NJCAA Academic All-American those same years.  Hall Anderson moved just south on I-35 to San Marcos to play collegiately for Texas State University in 2007, 2008 and 2009.  She was named to the All-Southland Conference team in 2009, and also received All-Southland Conference Tournament team member honors.
