Tournament Notes

San Marcos, Texas – The Texas State softball team will open its 2011 season in Manoa, Hawaii for the Oceanic Time Warner Paradise Classic. The four-team tournament will see the Bobcats paired up against Hawai'i, UC Davis and Southern Utah. All four teams are opening their season at the tournament.  

Texas State will face UC Davis in its first game on Thursday, Feb. 10. This will be the first meeting between the two teams. First pitch is slated for 8 p.m. CT.

The Bobcats will play Southern Utah on Friday, Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. CT in their second game of the tournament. The two teams last played each other in 1994, where Texas State won, 7-0.

Texas State returns to the field in the night cap to face host #13/#8 Hawai'i at 11 p.m. CT. Hawai'i enters the 2011 season off a successful 2010 season that landed the 'Bows in the World Series. The Bobcats last faced the 'Bows in 2006, where they fell 2-1.

-Texas State will play its season opener in the Aloha State for the second time in six years.
