Hammond, La. –
The Texas State volleyball team added to its Southland Conference winning streak on Saturday afternoon in Hammond, La., when the Bobcats defeated Southeastern Louisiana, 3-0 (25-10, 25-20, 25-13), to make it 13 straight wins in league play.

The Bobcats will head back to San Marcos after a successful road trip to Louisiana that featured a 3-1 win over Nicholls for the program's 1,000th win before the team picked up its 1,001st win on Saturday with the team's 12th sweep of the season.

Texas State improved to 22-7 overall this season and 13-1 in the Southland Conference with the win, while Southeastern Louisiana dropped to 5-25, 1-13 SLC. The Bobcats are tied for the lead in the conference with UTSA with just two matches remaining in the regular season – one of which will come against UTSA next week.

On Saturday, the Bobcats were in control from the opening serve, taking an early lead after a serving run from Danielle Sanchou made the score 7-3 Bobcats. The team continued to extend the lead throughout the set before finishing with a 15-point victory, 25-10. The Bobcats hit .647 in the opening stanza and did not record an error on 17 attempts.

The opening set victory was a good sign for Texas State, which has compiled a perfect 10-0 record in conference play when winning the first set.

The second set was much more competitive and played within a few point for the majority of it. The Bobcats took an 8-2 lead early, but the Lions came back within one point on several occasions before Texas State went on a late run for a 25-20 win.

Texas State came out focused in the third set and ran away with it by a score of 25-13. Three early blocks from Amber Calhoun and Rachel James helped put the Bobcats in front 8-2 early and the team never looked back.

For the match, Calhoun put down nine kills on 10 attempts for a .900 hitting percentage, while Ashlee Hilbun added eight and a .636 hitting percentage.

Caleigh McCorquodale recorded her team-high 13th double-double of the season, finishing the match with 30 assists and 13 digs.

Defensively, the Bobcats held the Lions to a .094 hitting percentage after the team held a 7.0-4.0 advantage in blocks and a 47-28 advantage in digs.

The team's next action will be a pivotal Southland Conference showdown against UTSA in San Antonio on Thursday, November 10 between the top two teams in the conference standings. The Bobcats and Roadrunners will begin their I-35 Rivalry Series match at 6:30 p.m.
