Bobcat Volleyball Earns 2026 AVCA Team Academic Award

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Texas State volleyball program continued its tradition of excellence in the classroom as the Bobcats were recognized with the 2026 AVCA Team Academic Award, presented by the American Volleyball Coaches Association to programs that maintain a year-long team grade-point average of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale.

The Bobcats earned the honor for the seventh consecutive season after posting a 3.51 team GPA during the 2025-26 academic year, highlighting the program's commitment to success both in the classroom and on the court.

Texas State's academic achievements were highlighted by three student-athletes who compiled a perfect 4.00 cumulative GPA across both the fall and spring semesters. Additionally, Bobcat student-athletes recorded 10 individual 4.00 semesters, while eight players finished the academic year with a cumulative GPA above 3.50.

TXST opens the 2026 season with a pair of exhibition contests at Strahan Area before welcoming Oklahoma and Louisiana to the Texas State Invitational August 28-30. The schedule includes a home-and-home league slate against all eight Pac-12 opponents as well as four non-conference tournaments, featuring in-state and regional rivals. The regular season will conclude with a Pac-12 Championship for the first time in the league's 110-year history.
