– Texas State (6-10, 1-1 SLC) men's basketball will host Sam Houston State on Wednesday, January 19. Tip-off at Strahan Coliseum is slated for 7 p.m. Tomorrow's game is the first of seven for the Greek Attendance Challenge; so pack Strahan and support your Bobcats.

Scouting Texas State

Texas State (6-10, 1-1 SLC) loss to McNeese State, 97-92, snapping its three-game win streak. Eddie Rios led the way with 21 points. The Bobcats are led by team captains Cameron Johnson and Tony Bishop; Texas State's top scorers and rebounders. Texas State has scored 72+ points in each of its last seven games, going 4-3. The Bobcats are shooting 45 percent from the field and averaging 79.6 points per game.

 

Scouting Sam Houston State

Sam Houston State (9-7, 2-1 SLC) opened conference play with a 62-59 victory over UTSA, but fell to UT Arlington 65-58 in its next game. The most recent Bearkat win came over Nicholls in a 74-56 rout of the Colonels. Gilberto Clavell leads Sam Houston State in scoring with 18.9 points per game and 7.4 rebounds per game. Clavell has led the Bearkats in scoring on 10 occasions this season. The Bearkats are averaging 70 points per game and 39.6 rebounds per game.

March 6, 2010 - San Marcos, Texas. -The men's basketball team came from behind to defeat Sam Houston State 101-97 in overtime at Strahan Coliseum. John Rybak and Emmanuel Bidias A' Moute combined for 41 points, 14 rebounds, six assists and four steals for the Bobcats. The win clinched a sixth-place seeding in the SLC Tournament for Texas State.
