Cross Country: Baylor Twilight Preview

Bobcats open the season on Friday.

San Marcos, Texas - The 2010 Texas State men's and women's cross country teams will open up the season at the Baylor Twilight Invitational in Waco, Texas on Friday, Sept. 3. The race will be held at the Baylor Intramural Field.

The women will kick-off the invitational at 6:30 p.m. with the 4k, followed by the men's 6k race.

“The Baylor Twilight will be a good introductory meet for us,” said head coach Grigori Viniar. “The distance is a little bit shorter than what we will be running at conference.”

Steffanie Armstrong is the Bobcats top returning runner on the women's side. She placed 16th at the 2009 Southland Conference Championships with a time of 21:51.

For the men, they have a wealth of newcomers returning, including junior Michael Morris. He finished in 25:47 for a 27th place finish at the conference championships last season for Texas State.
