Looking At Texas State

Texas State looks to even its record to 5-5 overall and improve to 2-4 against Southland Conference opponents after suffering a 49-17 loss against Central Arkansas last Saturday in San Marcos. The loss gives the Bobcats a 3-3 record in home games this season. Texas State will be looking to even its road record to 2-2 this season at McNeese State after upsetting then third-ranked Stephen F.  Austin 27-24 in its last road game on October 30. The Bobcats opened the season with a 68-28 loss at Houston on September 4 and also suffered a 49-24 setback at Southeastern Louisiana on October 9.

LOOKING AT McNEESE STATE

McNeese State enters Saturday night's game with a 5-4 overall record, but is in a three-way tie for first place with eighth-ranked Stephen F.  Austin and  Northwestern State in the Southland Conference standings with a 4-1 league record.  The Cowboys began league play with a 24-7 victory at Northwestern State before suffering a 32-27 loss against SFA earlier this year. Since the loss to SFA, McNeese State has won league games at Southeastern Louisiana, against Nicholls and at Sam Houston State.

SERIES RECORD

Texas State enters Saturday's game with an 8-19 series record against McNeese State after the Bobcats suffered a 30-27 loss last season in San Marcos. The Bobcats won the last meeting in Lake Charles when they upset the third-ranked Cowboys 45-42 in 2008. Texas State enters Saturday night's game having won three straight games in Lake Charles since the 2004 season.
