SAN MARCOS, Texas -- Texas State fell to Sun Belt Conference East Division leader James Madison, 52-20, at home on Tuesday night.
Brad Jackson threw for 230 yards and a touchdown, while also adding a team-best 43 yards and a score on the ground to lead the Bobcats (5-3, 0-4) in the mid-week match up. Jackson's lone TD pass went to
Mavin Anderson in the second quarter, his first TD reception of the 2025 season. Anderson had a game-high 96 receiving yards off five catches.
Defensively,
Ryan Nolan registered seven tackles, including six solo, to pace the Bobcat defense and
Jaden Rios added his first interception in a TXST uniform.
Texas State garnered 352 yards of total offense in the contest, the most surrendered by JMU (7-1, 5-0) this season.
Alonza Barnett III threw for 264 yards and four TDs for JMU, while also leading the ground game with 98 yards and a score.
