LOGAN, Utah – No. 22 Texas State begins a new era when Pac-12 Conference play begins at No. 19 Utah State on Thursday night. Kickoff from Chuck & Gloria Bell Soccer Field is slated for 8:30 p.m. (CT).

SCOUTING THE BOBCATS
- The Bobcats took on Santa Clara in the programs' first-ever meeting, where a hard-fought battle resulted in a scoreless draw to lead Texas State to No. 24 and its fifth straight week in the national rankings. Following a bye week, Texas State enters conference play ranked No. 22 nationally and sixth week inside the national top 25.
- After being named to the United Soccer Coaches Defenders to Watch List on Aug. 4, she was named to the MAC Hermann Players to Watch List on Aug. 26. The honor is the National Player of the Year award, set to release following the season on January 8, 2027. Meza is the second Bobcat in program history to be named to the prestigious watch list (Kaylie Davis, 2019), compiled of 64 Division I women's soccer athletes. She is the only Pac-12 Conference representative on the watch list and one of just five internationally born. The Sept. 30 announcement from the organizations landed Meza on the mid-season watch list for the award, being one of just 30 Division I players in the country on the list and the only Pac-12 Conference recipient.
- The Bobcat team that just set a program record in assists a year ago (45) continued the trend early in 2026, with a Pac-12-best 28 total and seven versus UTRGV alone. (16th nationally). The Bobcats lead the conference in total goals (28, 8th nationally) and points-per-game (8.30, 11th nationally).
SCOUTING THE AGGIES
- No. 19 Utah State enters its third consecutive week in the IWSOC/USC Top 25 Coaches Poll.
- A strong 2026 campaign is highlighted by victories over then-No. 13 BYU (4-0), Utah (1-0), and a pair of draws versus No. 2 Michigan and a top Pacific Region foe in St. Mary's en route to a 7-2-2 non-conference record.
- The Aggies have also faced off with then-No. 15 Kansas (L, 2-0) and No. 17 Colorado (L, 2-0) as important strength of schedule matchups reflect a 26 RPI and have been tabbed hosts of the inaugural Pac-12 Conference Tournament, awarded to the Pac-12 team with the highest RPI through non-conference contests.
- Utah State ranks as conference leaders in the following categories: total assists (31), total points (87), and tie with the Bobcats in total goals with 28.The Aggies make a trip to Colorado State after hosting the Bobcats.
ALL-TIME SERIES HISTORY
- Three meetings on the pitch in history have taken place between the two programs, while the Aggies lead the all-time series 2-0-1. The most recent contest came in 2012 where Utah State secured a 4-0 victory in Logan.
PRESTIGIOUS PAC-12 PAIR
- Not only will the matchup between No. 22 Texas State and No. 19 Utah State mark the two programs inaugural Pac-12 contest, but it will also feature the conference's top two teams to date. The match marks the first ranked-versus-ranked contest in program history for the Bobcats, while both squads have lived up to the Pac-12 preseason order-of-finish poll that tabbed the Aggies and Bobcats first and second, respectively. Utah State enters the week at No. 19 in the IWSOC/USC Coaches Poll for the third consecutive week, while No. 22 Texas State appears in the Top 25 for the sixth consecutive week.
RANKED OPPONENTS
- Only six times has Texas State taken on a ranked opponent in the regular season. The Bobcats secured its first-ever victory over a ranked opponent on Sunday night (8/23) at No. 6 Baylor. Before this season was a 1-1 draw hosting #19 Oklahoma in 2025, where Constance Agyemang recorded the equalizing goal. The Bobcats played to a scoreless draw in 2024 at #13 Oklahoma State in 2024, while the other matchups were a 3-0 loss against #16 TCU in 2022, 2-1 loss at #18 Texas in 2018, and a 3-0 loss to #19 William & Mary. Overall record vs. ranked opponents now is 1-3-2 coming into the match at Utah State.
