Bobcats Set for NCAA West First Round in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. Texas State track & field is set to compete at the 2026 NCAA Division I West First Round Championships from May 27-30 at John McDonnell Field, hosted by the University of Arkansas.

The Bobcats qualified 23 student-athletes for the regional meet, including eight women and 15 men, with several athletes earning spots in multiple events. 

The top 12 finishers in each event will advance to the NCAA Outdoor Championships, scheduled for June 10-13 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.

Texas State's men's competition begins Wednesday morning with Manfred Mannamaa competing in the hammer throw at 9:30 a.m., followed by Connor Warzecha in the javelin at 2 p.m.

On the track, Ja'Shaun Lloyd, Arveyon Davis and Joshua Taylor will compete in the first round of the 110-meter hurdles at 6 p.m. 

Giovonni Walker and Isaiah Kayemba are scheduled for the long jump at 6:30 p.m., while Lloyd and Drew Donley will compete in the first round of the 100 meters at 7 p.m.

Caden Ohara will compete in the pole vault and Adam Carter in the shot put beginning at 7 p.m.

Mihajlo Katanic is scheduled to compete in the 400-meter hurdles at 8:20 p.m. before Donley returns to the track for the first round of the 200 meters at 8:45 p.m.

Texas State's women's competition begins Thursday with Elisabet Runarsdottir and Lara Roberts competing in the hammer throw at 9:30 a.m., followed by Charlize Goody in the javelin at 2 p.m.

Sophia Haberer and Hannah Kemele will compete in the shot put at 7 p.m., while Victoria Amiadamen is scheduled for the first round of the 400-meter hurdles at 8:20 p.m. Paige Archer closes out the day for the Bobcats in the first round of the 200 meters at 8:45 p.m.

Texas State enters the NCAA West First Round following another standout outdoor season that included Sun Belt Conference team championships on both the men's and women's sides.

The NCAA West First Round begins Wednesday morning with field events and the first round of running events. 


Live results for the meet will be available through Flash Results, while all four days of competition will stream on ESPN+.
