NEW ORLEANS – Following a standout performance at the Lady Luck Invitational, Texas State's
Grace Quintanilla was named the Sun Belt Conference Golfer of the Week for the first time in her young career. The freshman is the second Bobcat to earn the honor this season, joining
Yvonne Chamness, who has been recognized three times in 2025-26.
Quintanilla posted her second consecutive top five finish to lead TXST at the event, opening the tournament with a 2-under 70 on the first 18, which included seven of her team-leading nine birdies at the tournament She closed with rounds of 74 and 73 to finish 1-over. She has now led the Bobcats in four of 7 tournaments played this season, only missing the Ron Moore Intercollegiate due to International duty with the Philippines.
This is the fourth accolade for TXST this season, with no other school picking up more than a pair.
