Texas State Tennis Returns Home to Face UIW

SAN MARCOS, Texas— Texas State women's tennis returns to the Bobcat Tennis Complex on Friday for its third home match of the season, hosting UIW at 1 p.m.

The Bobcats enter the contest riding a five-match winning streak and have secured the doubles point in each of those victories.

Senior Ireland Simme and freshman Olivia Collins lead Texas State's doubles lineup with a 5-1 record on court one. Sophomores Chantajah Mills and Tadiwa Mauchi hold a 4-1 mark as a tandem, including a perfect 4-0 record on court three.

Friday will mark Texas State's first home appearance in two weeks. The Bobcats went 2-0 during their previous home weekend, earning a 4-3 win over New Mexico State and a 4-0 sweep of Sam Houston.

UIW enters Friday with a 1-5 record and has dropped its last five matches. The Cardinals' lone win came in their season opener, a 6-1 victory over St. Mary's University. Four of UIW's six matches have been played on the road.

Texas State leads the all-time series 8-1 and has won the last six meetings. The Bobcats are 5-0 against UIW at the Bobcat Tennis Complex. The two programs met last season, with Texas State earning a 7-0 sweep of UIW in San Antonio.
