MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Texas State men's golf team used a tournament-low 13-under second round to climb three spots on the leaderboard to sit in second place with 18 holes to play at the Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate.
The second-round 275 featured three Bobcat individuals with rounds in the 60s, led by
Ben Loveard's 65. The senior was one of three golfers in the 90-player field to card a 65 on the day and it was one stroke off his career-best 64 shot at the Bubba Barnett Collegiate in 2024. Loveard (73-65—138) sits at -6 and tied for fifth place.
TXST is at -14 and two strokes back of leader Florida Gulf Coast, which fired rounds of 278 and 282 to sit at -16. Florida Atlantic rounds out the top three teams at -12.
Leading the way for the Bobcats is newcomer
