CHARLOTTESVILLE, Virginia – Bobcat
Sakke Siltala led the Texas State men's golf team at the Lewis Chitengwa Memorial with his third top 10 performance of the season. As a team, TXST finished ninth at the event.
Siltala (69-72-67--208), who finished tied for 10th at -5, signed for a pair of rounds in the 60s at the event, bringing his season total to match a team-best seven in 2025-26. The senior also adds 18 rounds at even or under, a Bobcat best, and with his 16 birdies, including five on his opening nine of round three, he posted the third best total of the tournament and now leads TXST.
Host and No. 2 Virginia won the tournament, while No. 25 Florida State finished second and No. 45 SMU rounded out the top three.
Harrison Jaeger (68-76-73--217) and
Jose Manuel Berenguel Casas (71-71-75--217) tied at 4-over, which was good for a share of 45th place, while
Bryce Womack (71-74-73--218) and
Ben Loveard (77-77-75--229) finished the tournament at tied for 52nd and at 71st, respectively.
The Bobcats now set their sights on their final Sun Belt Conference Championships. Stroke play competition runs April 27-29 at the Annandale Golf Club in Madison, Mississippi. The top four teams advance to April 30's match play semifinals for a chance at the league's automatic bid to one of six NCAA Regionals.
