Women's Tennis Return to Action at ACU Invite

SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State women's tennis will head to Abilene, Texas, for the third consecutive year to compete in the ACU Invite hosted by Abilene Christian University from Sept. 26–28.

The Bobcats return to action after taking a week off following their visit to McNeese State University, where they competed in the Cowgirl Invite against McNeese, Tarleton State and Louisiana-Lafayette. Seven Bobcat tennis players saw action in the season opener and were able to secure seven total wins in the tournament.

This weekend will feature a larger pool of schools than the last tournament. The following 11 teams will compete at the ACU Invite: ACU, Louisiana Tech, New Mexico State, Sam Houston, SMU, Stephen F. Austin, Tarleton State, Texas State, Texas Tech, UT Arlington and UTSA.

The Bobcats will send six players to compete in the ACU Invite: Olivia Collins, Stoney Cooks, Chantajah Mills, Tadiwa Mauchi, Anastasia Radovanovic and Julia Richardet.

Seniors Ireland Simme and Emily Niers, along with Zoe Du Pasquier Jensen and Charlotte Roesch, will not compete this weekend.

The tournament will be conducted in a compass draw format in both singles and doubles to guarantee three matches each for every player. Singles matches will be two out of three sets with a 10-point tiebreaker in the first round and consolation rounds. The main draw semifinals and finals will play a full third set. Doubles will be an eight-game pro set. There will be no-ad scoring for both singles and doubles.
