SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State soccer team (3-2-3, 0-0-1 Sun Belt) are back on the road with a trip to the Peach State to take on Georgia Southern (2-5-2, 0-0-1 Sun Belt). Thursday's match is scheduled to kick off at 6 p.m. CT from Bo Pitts Field.

About Texas State
The Bobcats began Sun Belt Conference play with a 1-1 draw at ULM. After tying the contest with 40 minutes left on the clock, TXST had multiple chances to put the match away but were denied by the Warhawks goalkeeper. The draw saw the program's record move to 2-0-3 when opening Sun Belt action on the road.
Both
Constance Agyemang and
Katrin Agustsdottir have recorded a team-high four goals.
Helen Alormenu has chipped in three tallies and the duo of
Sadie Guzman and
Victoria Meza have found the back of the net twice. Overall, 13 different Bobcats have scored a goal this season that is the third most in the nation alongside Louisville and behind Houston (14) and Indiana State (14).
Pacing the team with four assists is
Matsuri Tsutsui. She is one shy of recording the third most assists in a season by a Bobcat freshman. Credited with three assists apiece are
Lilah Dupree and
Chloe Jones
Brooklyn Escobar has started all eight matches in goal. She enters Thursday with a 1.88 GAA having made 28 saves and a .683 save percentage.
About Georgia Southern
The Eagles opened conference play with a 1-1 draw at home versus Marshall. It was their first home contest in 28 days. At home, Georgia Southern is 1-1-1 with a season opening victory over Samford and a loss to Jacksonville. The only other win this season came on the road at Western Carolina.
Paisley Cathey leads the Eagles with three goals and seven points. Both Addison Comer and Bri Conley have scored twice. Conley has added a team best two assists, along with Erin Wilkins, and paces the squad with 19 shots and 11 shots on goal.
Three different players have seen action between the posts with the most being recorded by Katie Oakley. She has started five matches and sports with 1.00 GAA with 29 saves and a .853 save percentage. Addison Daughtry has started three contests and enters with a 2.80 GAA, 12 saves and a .632 save percentage. Playing 135 minutes over two contests has been Quinn Wilson, who holds a 1.33 GAA and has stopped three shots.
Series History
Texas State leads the all-time series 5-2-2 after winning last season's meeting 3-0 in San Marcos. The Bobcats are 1-2-2 all-time when playing Georgia Southern on the road. The lone win was a 3-0 contest on Oct. 7, 2018.
Last time the teams met in Statesboro, it ended in a 1-1 draw on Sept. 22, 2022. Both losses to the Eagles were by 1-0 scorelines.
Four of the five victories for TXST have seen the team net three goals. The lone exception was on Sept. 22, 2017 in San Marcos that ended 1-0.
