SAN MARCOS, Texas – Coming off a record-setting season opening victory, the Texas State soccer team plays its first road match of the season on Sunday. The Bobcats head down I-35 to take on Incarnate Word at Benson Stadium for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.

About Texas State
TXST opened the season with a 9-1 win over Our Lady of the Lake on Thursday. Seven different players scored and nine were credited with an assist. The team set program match record for assists (11) and shots on goal (24) while making the mark for shot attempts (37).
Both
Katrin Agustsdottir and
Helen Alormenu found the back of the net twice. Also scoring on the evening was
Constance Agyemang,
Kennley Bradley,
Halle Garcia,
Sadie Guzman and
Alexis Montgomery. The duo of
Chloe Jones and
Kaylie Smith registered two assists apiece, the first Bobcat duo with multiple assists in the same contest since 2021.
Both
Brooklyn Escobar and
Maude Rouanet played a half in goal with Rouanet making one save.
About Incarnate Word
The Cardinals opened the season with a 2-1 win at North Texas despite being outshot 38-6. Alex Knutson and Grasyn Unruh scored for UIW while assists were earned by Tyler Coker and Sinead Duffy. In goal, Hannah Alexander made 13 saves on the night.
Series History
Texas State has won all four previous meetings. Last season, the Bobcats claimed a 4-0 victory in San Marcos.
Sunday will be the just the second time the teams have played in San Antonio. Only other match saw TXST score twice in the final 20 minutes to claim a 2-1 victory.
