2025 Soccer Season Kicks Off Thursday

SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State soccer team kicks off the 2025 regular season on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. when it hosts Our Lady of the Lake.
 
Fans can watch the contest on ESPN+ and live stats will also be available. Admission to the match and all home matches this season are free.
 
About Texas State
The Bobcats won all three of its exhibition matches with the capper being a 5-0 contest over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi last Thursday. Texas State was picked to finish second in the Sun Belt Conference preseason coaches poll behind reigning champion James Madison.
 
Victoria Meza was chosen as the conference's preseason midfielder of the year and she was picked to the all-conference team along with Kennley Bradley. They are the first Bobcats to be named to the preseason all-conference squad since 2019.
 
About Our Lady of the Lake
Last season, the Saints finished with an 8-7-2 record and 7-5-1 mark in the Red River Athletic Conference. The top returning player is Leah Tapia, who recorded five goals and two assists in 2024. Emmerson Weiler was the only player to register more assists last year with three.
 
The only returning goalkeeper is London Suarez, who played in four matches with three starts. She posted a 0.00 GAA with eight saves.
 
Series History
Thursday will be the first-ever meeting between the programs. It will also be an exhibition match for OLLU.
