SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State junior right-handed pitcher
Bryson Dudley was selected by the Kansas City Royals with in the seventh round with the 218th pick of the 2025 Major League Baseball Draft.

Dudley finished his lone season in San Marcos with a 5-1 record, two saves and a 3.93 ERA in 50.1 innings. He made 24 appearances on the rubber and started two contests while striking out 53. The Round Rock, Texas native limited opponents to a .185 batting average, the lowest in program history.

In his first three outings, Dudley picked up the victories that included a seven-strikeout outing in 2.2 innings versus 19th-ranked Oklahoma State in a game played at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. Thirteen times he would strike out multiple batters in an outing.

His final appearance in a Bobcat uniform saw him throw a complete game shutout in the single-elimination first round game against App State. Dudley had a career-high 10 strikeouts, did not allow a walk and surrendered just two hits while facing the minimum 27 batters in the 3-0 victory. It was the first postseason complete game shutout by a TXST hurler since 2011.

Dudley's performance in the contest earned him Sun Belt Conference All-Tournament Team honors. He also earned College Sports Communicators All-District accolades for his work in the classroom.

The right-hander is the ninth highest drafted player in program history. Dudley is also the second Texas State player ever drafted by Kansas City with the other being Ben Theriot in the ninth round in 2009.
