EUGENE, Ore. – Texas State track and field will conclude its outdoor season at the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, which take place July 11-14 in Eugene, Oregon.
The Bobcats will have five athletes competing in the meet, three athletes on the men's side and two athletes on the women's side. On the men's side, Kason O'Riley and Aiden Hayes will compete in the men's high jump and will be the first TXST athletes to compete in the event since Charles Austin, who took home the high jump title in 1990.
Chris Preddie qualified for both the men's long jump and triple jump and is the first TXST athlete since Brian Veal in 2005 to qualify for both the long jump and triple jump at the NCAA Championships. This marks the second time Preddie has qualified for the NCAA Championships, as he qualified for the meet in 2023 in the long jump.
On the women's side, Lara Roberts prepares for her second consecutive appearance at the NCAA Championships in the women's hammer throw. Roberts joins Elisabet Runarsdottir as the only other Bobcat to qualify for the women's hammer throw in back-to-back years.
She comes into the meet with the second-best mark in the country, 70.97m, and looks to improve on her 15th-place finish from last year's championship meet.
Melanie Duron will compete in the women's shot put and becomes the first TXST athlete to qualify for the shot put since Alyssa Wilson in 2022. Duron comes into the meet with the 21st-best qualifying throw (16.75m).
