LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas State women's golfer Yvonne Chamness wrapped up postseason play tying for 24th at the NCAA Lubbock Regional held at The Rawls Course.

Chamness (75-78-70--223) carded her best round of the event on the final day, shooting 2-under 70 to climb seven spots on the individual leaderboard. The 18 featured an unblemished front nine and continued with three of four birdies on Nos. 10-13 to bring her round total to four and overall tournament total to nine. The junior topped her 2024 finish at the event, where she finished tied for 54th at 16-over 232.

No. 7 Wake Forest won the event at -2, leading five teams from the Regional that will advance to the 2025 NCAA National Championships in Carlsbad, California. No. 6 Texas (+2), No. 30 Iowa State (+10) and No. 22 Tennessee (+22) all continue the quest for a national title (at the time of this release, Purdue and Texas A&M were in a playoff for the fifth spot), while Lousiane Gauthier (E) from Florida Gulf Coast earned the individual berth.

Over the season, the Sun Belt Conference All-Tournament section led the Bobcats in stroke average and rounds counted toward the team score, while finishing atop the TXST lineup in eight of 11 tournaments including a sixth-place finish at the Sun Belt Conference Championship. She won her first collegiate tournament at the Cardinal Challenge and collected four top three finishes, five in the top 10 and eight in the top 25 across the 2024-25 season.  

The NCAA Regional qualification for Chamness gave TXST representation at the event for the second consecutive season, while she was the first individual to represent the Bobcats since Anne-Charlotte Mora in 2019.

NCAA Regional competition wrapped up the 2024-25 season for Texas State. The Bobcats posted three top three team finishes this season, including championship performances at the Texas State Invitational (February 3-4) and Cardinal Challenge (March 31-April 1).

The event was originally scheduled to be played Monday-Wednesday, but inclement weather forced the event to move a day up.
