SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State's
Yvonne Chamness is set to compete at the NCAA Lubbock Regional starting Sunday (Monday's round one moved up due to forecasted weather) at The Rawls Course.
The 2025 Sun Belt Conference All-Tournament selection led the Bobcats with a 72.60 stroke average and 29 rounds counted toward the team score this season, finishing atop the TXST lineup in eight of 11 tournaments including a sixth-place finish at the Sun Belt Conference Championship. She won her first collegiate tournament at the Cardinal Challenge and collected four top three finishes, five in the top 10 and eight in the top 25 across the 2024-25 season.
This will be back-to-back seasons with the Bobcats represented at an NCAA Regional event after earning the Sun Belt's automatic team bid following its championship performance at the conference tournament in 2024. Chamness finished tied for 54th at the NCAA Bryan Regional in 2024, helping TXST to a 10th place finish.
Chamness will tee off at 3:20 p.m. CT from hole No. 10 with individuals from Colorado State and High Point.
Regional Format
The 54-holes of stroke play will take place across three days with one round each day. Each of the NCAA's six regional sites features 12 teams and six individuals. The top five teams and top individual not on a qualifying team from each site will advance to the NCAA Championships May 16-21 at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California.

2024 NCAA Bryan Regional
BRYAN, Texas – Junia Gabasa and
Hailey Jones finished in the top-17 at the NCAA Bryan Regional as the Bobcats' season came to a close after finishing 10th on the team leaderboard at the Traditions Golf Club (Par 72, 6,376 yards) on Wednesday.
Gabasa shot 2-over (75-72-71; 218) to place tied for 13th, which was the highest finish by a Bobcat. All three of her rounds counted for the team score, including the 1-under 71 in the final round. She had only two birdies against one bogey on Wednesday.
Jones was 1-over in the final round and finished 3-over (74-72-73; 219) for the tournament to tie for 17th. The graduate student had four birdies, three bogeys and a double and finished the week with eight birdies, which were second-most on the team.
Fia Lindblom, who was the third-highest Bobcat finisher at tied for 48th, had a team-high nine birdies in the regional. She shot 12-over for the week (76-75-77; 228).
