SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State track and field will host its last home meet of the season on Saturday. The Texas State Twilight Last Chance Meet will be hosted at the Bobcat Track and Field Complex and will serve as a last-chance opportunity for athletes to hit regional qualifying marks in their events.
The one-day meet, which is being held for the first time since 2017, will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday with the women's hammer throw, and the running events will be on a rolling schedule beginning at 6 p.m.
The meet will consist of seven universities – Texas State, Kentucky State, Texas Southern, Our Lady of the Lake, Southwestern, East Texas Baptist and Chicago State – and a mix of clubs and athletes competing unattached.
The NCAA leader in the women's hammer throw, Lara Roberts, is scheduled to throw in the event at the Texas State Twilight meet. Roberts leads the nation with a mark of 70.97 meters and won gold last week at the Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the event.
