SAN MARCOS, Texas – The final weekend of the regular season will see Texas State host James Madison for a three-game series at Bobcat Ballpark beginning on Thursday. The series opener and Friday's contest are both scheduled for a 6 p.m. first pitch while Saturday's finale is slated to start to 1 p.m.

The Bobcats enter the weekend 25-27 on the season and tied for sixth in the Sun Belt Conference with a 13-14 record while the Dukes are 15-37 overall, 8-19 in league play and have been eliminated from qualifying for the Sun Belt Tournament.

ABOUT TEXAS STATE
Texas State is currently tied with Georgia Southern and Marshall in the standings. To qualify for the conference tournament, the Bobcats need one win or one South Alabama loss. TXST can finish as high as fourth or as low as 11th in the standings.

Chase Mora enters leading the team in batting average (.302), hits (61), RBI (41), runs (39), doubles (14) and home runs (7). Ryne Farber enters hitting .282 with 38 runs, 30 RBI, four homers and a team best 13 stolen bases. Second on the team in round trippers is Alan Shibley with five. Also hitting four long balls has been Ian Collier, Coy DeFury, Austin Eaton and Zachary Gingrich.

Thursday will see Alex Valentin (5-5, 5.54 ERA, 55 K) take the mound. He will be followed by Jesus Tovar (3-6, 5.88 ERA, 55 K) on Friday and Austin Eaton (4-2, 4.54 ERA, 27 K) on Saturday.

Matthew Tippie has come out of the bullpen a staff-high 23 times and has a 2-0 record with one save, 3.24 ERA and staff-high 66 strikeouts in 41.2 innings Carson Laws has earned eight saves while going 3-1 with a 5.47 ERA and 49 strikeouts. Bryson Dudley sports a 4-1 record with two saves and 39 punch outs in 37 frames.

ABOUT JAMES MADISON
JMU enters the weekend on a four-game losing streak after being swept at home last week by Old Dominion and dropping a 10-inning midweek contest to Maryland. The Dukes are 6-20 on the road with a 5-7 mark against Sun Belt opponents.

Coleman Calabrese is hitting a team best .275 with 14 doubles and 22 RBI. Six homers have been hit by Wyatt Peifer, who has driven in 32 runs and scored 29 times. The trio of Ryan Dooley (10), Kyle Langley (15) and Reece Moody (14) have stolen double-digit bases.

The Dukes will send Todd Mozoki to the mound on Thursday. The right-hander is 2-5 with a 4.71 ERA, 44 strikeouts and 41 walks in 49.2 innings over 17 games, including nine starts. Max Kuhle will take the rubber on Friday as he comes in with a 2-4 record, 2.54 ERA and 61 punch outs. The finale will see right-hander Jackson Logar start. He is 4-5 with a 3.57 ERA, 68 strikeouts and has hit a Sun Belt leading 26 batters.

Tyler Muscar has made a team-high 27 appearances on the rubber while going 1-3 with a 5.35 ERA and 29 strikeouts in 35.1 innings. Making 22 relief outings has been Holden McKinney, who is 1-2 with a 6.75 ERA and 17 punch outs. Adam Horvath (2-1, 3.58 ERA) has two saves on the year.

SERIES VS. DUKES
Texas State leads the all-time series 2-1. The only previous meeting came last season in Harrisonburg, Virginia where the Bobcats won the first two games before dropping the series finale.
