SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State women's tennis returns to the Bobcat Tennis Complex this Friday and Sunday for a pair of big-time Sun Belt Conference matches against James Madison and Old Dominion.
The Bobcats will face James Madison on Friday at noon and Old Dominion on Sunday at 10 a.m.
Heading into Friday's match, Texas State is ranked second in the SBC and holds a 5-1 record in conference play. The Bobcats are one win away from their most wins in program history (15) and most SBC wins in a season (6).
Multiple Bobcats are on a hot streak entering the match against the Dukes.
Ireland Simme remains undefeated in singles play this season with a 13-0 record on courts five and six. Simme and her partner,
Sofia Fortuno, also hold a 4-0 record as a pair in doubles on court one.
Fortuno has an impressive record in singles play as well. She sits at 10-5 on the season and has won her last four singles matches.
Playing on courts three, four and five,
Emily Niers holds a record of 11-1 in singles play and has won 11 straight matches.
In doubles,
Kiana Graham and
Callie Creath hold a 4-0 record in SBC play on court three and are 11-2 overall. Both Graham (8-3) and Creath (7-4) hold winning records in singles as well, playing on courts one and two.

James Madison is tied for fifth in the SBC heading into the match with Texas State and holds a 6-11 overall record this season.
The Dukes are led by the doubles pair of Sophie Williams and Ines Oliveria, who are 8-11 on the season and ranked No. 89 in the ITA Doubles National Rankings.
The all-time series is tied 1-1 between the Bobcats and the Dukes, with Texas State winning last year's match 4-2.

No. 41 Old Dominion will be the second nationally ranked team Texas State has faced this season (#4 Oklahoma State). ODU holds a 7-0 record in SBC play and is ranked No. 1 in the conference.
The Monarchs are led by No. 15-ranked singles player Sofia Johnson, who holds a 12-2 record in singles play this season.
