Frazier is currently in his fourth season as the director of track and field/cross country

SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State Director of Athletics Don Coryell announced Tuesday that Director of Track and Field/Cross Country John Frazier, who led the Texas State women's track and field team to their first indoor conference track and field title since 2019, has a signed a five-year contract extension.

"We are thrilled to announce that Coach Frazier has signed a five-year contract extension, ensuring his leadership for the foreseeable future," said Coryell. "Since joining our program in 2021, Coach Frazier has exemplified the highest standards of integrity and commitment, leading our program to new heights. Coach Frazier's impact was undeniable. After securing the SBC Women's Indoor Championship, being named Coach of the Year, and coaching a National Champion for the first time in 29 years, it is clear that our program is in the best possible hands."

In his fourth season as the director of track and field/cross country, Frazier guided four Bobcats to the NCAA Indoor Championships, led the men's team to its highest end-of-season national ranking (19), and coached 19 athletes to podium finishes at the SBC Indoor Championships.

"I am very excited I have the opportunity to work another five years at Texas State as their director of track and field/cross country," said Frazier. "In the four years I have been here we have dramatically changed the approach and outlook of the program. We are now at the national level and have already won two Sun Belt Conference championships and have had multiple NCAA Regional Qualifiers each year. I am very thankful to the administration and my coaching staff for all of their hard work and support to make us become relevant at the national level of track and field."
