Bobcats Fire Team Low Round, Climb Six Spots at Sun Belt Championship

MADISON, Mississippi – The Texas State men's golf team went 7-under across the second 18 of the Sun Belt Conference Championship to climb six spots on the team leaderboard and sit one stroke back from the fourth match play qualification spot.

The Bobcats are 2-over and in sixth place, one stroke back from Louisiana and Troy. Arkansas State leads the 14-team field at -10, while Coastal Carolina is second at -6 and Georgia Southern third at -4.

Three Bobcats went 3-under on the day including Jack Burke (72-69--141) who is now -3 for the tournament and in a tie for fourth place. The senior is two strokes back from a three-way tie for first on the individual leaderboard.

Sakke Siltala (74-69--143) found his way to a -3 round with an unblemished score card that featured birdies on one, 11 and 15 to place him tied for 11th at 1-under for the tournament. Jaxon Donaldson (76-69--145) joined the crew at -3 and is tied for 22nd at 1-over.

Ben Loveard is tied for 43rd at 5-over after two rounds, while Brannan Cox joined the lineup today and finished his day +7.

TXST will join Troy and Louisiana for the final 18, teeing off from No. 10 starting at 8:30 a.m. CT.
