SAN MARCOS, TEXAS – Chris Preddie was named the Sun Belt Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week for the period ending April 16, the conference announced on Wednesday.Â
The Junior recorded an SBC leading mark of 7.87m/25-10 in the long jump at the 44 Farms Team Invitational. The mark tied his wind-legal PB and registered as the sixth-best jump in Texas State history.
Nationally speaking, Preddie is ranked fourth in the country for the event and is ranked third in the NCAA West Region.
This marked the third time in his career he has earned an SBC Athlete of the Week honor and is the third time this season a Texas State athlete has won an SBC Weekly award.
Texas State track and field returns to the track this week in California, as a select group of athletes will compete in a variety of meets April 16-19.
