Bobcats Head West for a Trio of Meets

Texas State will compete in three meets in California and one meet in Waco, Texas

SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State track and field has a busy week ahead as it is set to compete in four meets between April 16-19.

A select group of Bobcats will travel to California to compete in three different meets, while the rest of the team will compete in the Michael Johnson Invitational in Waco, Texas.

The first meet the Bobcats will compete at is the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, California. The three-day meet runs from April 16-18 and is hosted by Azusa Pacific University.

Six Texas State athletes from the distance squad will compete at the Bryan Clay Invitational.

The second West Coast meet will be the Pacific Coast Invitational, which is in Long Beach, California, and is hosted by Long Beach State. The Pacific Coast Invite is a one-day meet and takes place on April 17.

A select group of throwers is set to compete at the meet on the 17th.

The third meet of the trip will be the famous Mt. SAC Relays, hosted by Mt. San Antonio College. The Mt. SAC Relays run from April 17-19 and take place in Walnut, California.

The Mt. SAC Relays will be the main meet for the Bobcats, as a majority of the athletes traveling to California will compete in the three-day meet.

For the Texas State athletes not in California, they will head to Waco, Texas, to compete in the Michael Johnson Invitational, which takes place April 18-19. The two-day meet is hosted by Baylor University and will be held at the Clyde Hart Track and Field Stadium.
