Eaton Named to John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year Watch List

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Texas State's Austin Eaton was named to the 2025 John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year Award watch list on Tuesday by the College Baseball Foundation. The award is given to the nation's best dual role player.

Eaton was one of 35 players on the watch list and is the only player from a Sun Belt Conference program.

At the plate, the senior is tied for the team lead with four home runs while driving in 12 runs and scoring 10 times. Three of his homers have come against Power 4 opponents with his biggest being a three-run shot to put the Bobcats up for good at then top-ranked Texas A&M.

Eaton has made six appearances on the mound with five stats. The right-hander is 2-2 with 13 strikeouts in 19.0 innings. He recorded a quality start in his first outing of the season on Feb. 16 against Binghamton when he allowed just one run in six innings and struck out three on his way to picking up the victory.

The award is named for former Washington State University standout John Olerud, who achieved success both as a first baseman and left-handed pitcher during the late 1980s. He was inducted into the National College Baseball Hall of Fame in 2007. The award will be presented by the College Baseball Foundation on June 17.
