SAN MARCOS, Texas – The first home midweek game this season for Texas State (8-7) takes place on Tuesday at Bobcat Ballpark when TCU (12-5) comes to town for a 6 p.m. first pitch.

ABOUT TEXAS STATE
Tuesday is the lone home game for the Bobcats in the current eight-game stretch. The team has played road games at Campbell (3) and Incarnate Word (1). They will also open Sun Belt Conference play at App State this weekend. TXST will be going for its third midweek win over a Power 4 program after defeating then No. 1 Texas A&M and No. 19 Oklahoma State earlier this season.

Ryne Farber is the lone Bobcat hitting over .300 with a .321 average. He also leads the team in hits (18), runs (12), stolen bases (5) and walks (9). Austin Eaton has hit a team-high four home runs while driving in 10, one behind Ethan Farris' team best 11 RBI.

Getting the ball on Tuesday will be Jackson Teer. The right-hander is 0-2 with a 7.45 ERA and 15 strikeouts in 9.2 innings over three starts.

ABOUT TCU
The Horned Frogs come into the game on a five-game winning streak. They swept Fresno State this past weekend and won midweek games against Air Force in seven-inning affairs. TCU is 4-0 in true road games this season after beginning the year with a four-game sweep at San Diego.

Anthony Silva is hitting a team best .326 and is one of four players hitting over .300. Chase Brunson has hit three homers and posted a team-high 19 RBI. Also with double-digit RBI is Isaac Cadena (14), Sam Myers (10) and Sawyer Strosnider (13).

Scheduled to start Tuesday on the rubber is Louis Rodriguez. The right-hander is 1-0 with a 2.45 ERA and 14 strikeouts over 11 innings. He has appeared in six games with one start, which came last Tuesday against the Falcons.

SERIES VS. HORNED FROGS
TCU leads the all-time series 27-15 and has won the last two meetings, both of which took place in Fort Worth. Texas State is 5-5 when hosting the Horned Frogs and has won the last three meetings in San Marcos. Last time the teams played at Bobcat Ballpark saw the Bobcats claim an 8-4 victory on Mar. 14, 2023.
