SAN MARCOS, Texas – Women's tennis continues its spring season this week with a pair of matches this Friday and Saturday. The Bobcats will face UIW in San Antonio at 12 p.m. Friday and will return to San Marcos on Saturday for their home opener against ACU at 1 p.m.
The Bobcats' match at home against ACU on Saturday will mark the end of their six-game stretch of playing on the road.
Going into the match against UIW on Friday, there are three Bobcats who will be looking to maintain their undefeated records.
Ireland Simme is 3-0 in singles play, while
Kiana Graham and
Callie Creath are 3-0 as a doubles pair on court three.
Texas State (3-2, 0-0 Sun Belt) vs. UIW (0-1, 0-0 SLC) | 12 p.m. CT | Mabry Tennis Center
UIW comes into the match with a record of 0-1 and lost 0-7 in their lone match against Rice.
The Cardinals' roster features five juniors, one graduate student, and a single freshman. They are coming off a season in which they placed second at their conference tournament.
This will be the ninth match between TXST and UIW. The Bobcats lead the series 7-1 and won last year's match 6-1.
Texas State (3-2, 0-0 Sun Belt) vs. ACU (0-5, 0-0 SWAC) | 1 p.m. CT | Bobcat Tennis Complex
The Wildcats are 0-5 coming into their match versus TXST. ACU has recorded one point in their last five matches and faced three Power Five schools.
This is the first time ACU and TXST will play each other during a spring season. The Bobcats have taken part in the ACU Wildcat Invite during the fall season the past two years.
