SAN MARCOS, Texas – Track and field will continue its indoor season at the Charlie Thomas Invitational in College Station. The two-day meet will begin at 9:30 a.m. Friday and 10 a.m. on Saturday.
The Charlie Thomas Invitational will feature 15 teams: Texas A&M, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Baylor, Houston, Mississippi State, North Texas, Oklahoma Baptist, Rice, SMU (W), TCU, Texas A&M-Commerce, Texas State, UT-Arlington, UTSA and Western Texas College.
The Bobcats will send a full squad to the indoor meet after sending just four sprinters to the New Mexico Team Open last weekend. Texas State recorded six top-10 finishes, with only four athletes competing at the UNM Team Open.
After their last meet in College Station, the Ted Nelson Invite,
Elisabet Runarsdottir,
Kason O'Riley and
Drew Donley all earned Sun Belt Conference weekly awards.
- Runarsdottir earned SBC Women's Field Athlete of the Week.
- O'Riley earned SBC Men's Field Athlete of the Week.
- Donley earned SBC Men's Track Athlete of the Week.
Going into the Charlie Thomas Invitational, 21 Texas State athletes are ranked in the top 10 of the SBC in their respective events.
Four Bobcats—
Taejha Badal (200m), Donley (60m), O'Riley (high jump) and
Melanie Duron (shot put)—lead the SBC in their event.
