SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State softball will head on the road for the first time this season as the team heads to College Station for the Texas A&M Invitational.

The tournament will start tomorrow, Feb. 27 and play through March 2. Texas State will face #6 Texas A&M, #12 Texas Tech, Idaho State, Princeton and George Washington this weekend.
Texas State will open the tournament with a game against the Aggies on Feb. 27 at 4:30 pm. This game will be the lone of the Bobcats five to be streamed this week.

- Texas State returns 10 players from last year's team, including preseason All-Conference selections Maddy Azua and Ciara Trahan. The Bobcats also return Megan Kelnar (catcher), Emilee Baker (outfield), Sydney Harvey(UTL), Karmyn Bass (catcher), Makayla Hall (catcher), Presley Glende (pitcher), Analisa Soliz (pitcher) and Abigail Jennings (pitcher).Â
- Junior Kat Zarate returned for 2025 but is out for the season with an injury.
- Head coach Ricci Woodard will enter her 25th season at the helm of Texas State softball.
- A coach with 13 conference championships and 11 NCAA Regional appearances, Woodard enters the season with 844 career wins.
- Woodard is 21st among active Division I coaches in career wins. Woodard is one of just 11 of the top-25 winningest head coaches to accumulate all her wins at one program.
- Texas State has won three-consecutive Sun Belt Conference Preseason Pitcher of the Year honors, with Azua being recently named the 2025 season award recipient.Â
- Senior Ciara Trahan is just one of two on the roster this year, with Presley Glende being the other. Trahan was named preseason All-Conference in the Sun Belt.
- Head coach Ricci Woodard has put together a roster of entirely Texans this season. Woodard is just one of two known programs in the nation with the entirety of their roster being from Texas. The lone other program is Sam Houston.

After the Texas A&M Invitational, the Bobcats will return home for a three-game series against Missouri State on March 7 and 8 before the start of Sun Belt Conference play.
