SAN MARCOS, Texas— Texas State women's basketball will play its final home games of the 2024-25 season this week as they host Louisiana and Southern Miss this week.

Texas State will host Louisiana on Wednesday as part of a Black History Month celebration. The game will tip off at 5 pm as part of a doubleheader with Texas State men's basketball. The Bobcats will then host Southern Miss on Saturday, Feb. 22 for 'Graduate Night' in the Bobcats final home game of the season.

SERIES HISTORY
With the Ragin' Cajuns:
- Texas State has an 11-19 record all-time against the Ragin' Cajuns.
- Louisiana won both meeting between the two teams in 2023-24 by 59-52 and 55-50 scorelines.
- Last week, Texas State fell 71-54 in Louisiana against the Ragin' Cajuns. The Bobcats last win against them was in the 2022-23 season.
With the Golden Eagles:
- Texas State has a 2-3 record all-time against Southern Miss.
- Texas State won both meetings between the two teams in 2022-23, but lost both the meetings in the 2023-24 season.
- Texas State lost the meeting in Hattiesburg earlier this season by a 52-46 scoreline.

- The Freshmen: Texas State has four freshman, Heather Baymon, Saniya Burks, Takeira Ramey, and Melinda Winston.
- Three of the four freshmen played high school basketball in the state of Texas (Burks, Baymon, Winston) while Ramey is the lone freshman coming from out of state.
- Ramey has suffered a season-ending injury and will miss the remainder of the season.

- Texas State was picked to finish 10th in the Sun Belt Conference preseason poll. Last season the Bobcats finished 4-14 in conference which that saw them finish 13th in the regular season standings.
- After week eight of conference play, the Bobcats are 4-10 and sit in 10th place in the Sun Belt.
ABOUT THE RAGIN CAJUNS
- Louisiana is currently 12-12 this season and 8-6 in conference play.
- The Ragin Cajuns are coming off 80-60 win over ULM last weekend.
- The Ragin Cajuns are led by 13th year head coach Garry Broadhead who carries a 214-177 record in his time in Louisiana.
- The Ragin Cajuns leading scorer is Erica Lafayette who has 366 points so far this season, averaging 15.3 a night. She's their lone player to average double digits this season.
- Lafayette also leads the team in rebounds with 115 this season, averaging 4.8 per game.
ABOUT THE GOLDEN EAGLES
- Southern Miss are currently 9-17 this season and 4-10 in conference play.
- The Golden Eagles are coming off a 86-59 loss to Troy last week.
- Southern Miss is led by 34th year head coach Joye Lee-McNellis who carries a 566-460 record in her career. In her 21 seasons at Southern Miss, she is 337-304.
- The Golden Eagles leading scorer is Melyia Grayson who has 355 points so far this season, averaging 13.65 a night. Grayson also needs in rebounds with 214, averaging 8.23 a night.

Texas State close out the season on the road with a trip to Troy and South Alabama. Those games will be Feb. 26 at 7 pm at Troy and Feb. 28 at 5 pm at South Alabama. Both games will be streamed on ESPN+. The team will then head to Pensacola, Florida for the 2025 Sun Belt Conference Championship.
