SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State track and field continues its indoor season at the Jarvis Scott Open in Lubbock, Texas. The two-day meet begins Friday at 2 p.m. and continues Saturday at 11 a.m.
The meet marks the final competition for the Bobcats before the Sun Belt Indoor Track and Field Championships on Feb. 24-25.
Two-time Sun Belt Conference Field Athlete of the Week
Kason O'Riley will look to build on his NCAA-leading mark of 2.25m in the high jump. O'Riley, who holds the second- and third-best marks in Texas State history for the event, will compete Saturday at 1 p.m.
In the women's high jump, freshman
Kendall Lemm will also compete at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Lemm leads the conference with a mark of 1.73m.
Melanie Duron, the Sun Belt leader in the shot put, will compete at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Duron leads the conference with a mark of 16.57m and is the only athlete in the Sun Belt to record a throw over 16 meters in the event.
In the sprints,
Taejha Badal and
Drew Donley will look to improve on their Sun Belt-leading times in the 200m. Badal leads the women's 200m with a time of 23.38, while Donley leads the men with a mark of 21.03.
Entering the Jarvis Scott Open, Texas State has 15 athletes ranked in the top three of their events in the Sun Belt.
