Burke Named Sun Belt Golfer of the Week

NEW ORLEANS – Texas State men's golfer Jack Burke was named the Sun Belt Conference Golfer of the Week for his team-leading performance at the Hal Williams Collegiate February 10 and 11.

The senior finished second in the field of 75 to post his best career performance as part of the TXST lineup and match his overall individual placement, which he also secured in an individual performance as a freshman. Burke played all three rounds under par and in the 60s, including a season-low 65 on the first 18.

Texas State placed fourth at the event at 16-under, matching its highest placement of the season. Freshman Jaxon Donaldson also had his best finish of 2024-25, tying for 15th.

Burke shares the team lead with all 12 rounds played counting toward the Bobcats' team score this season, as well as three finishes inside the top 25. He also has a team-high 49 birdies and eight rounds even or under par. His 70.83 stroke average is second on the team, as are his four total rounds in the 60s.

Burke is the second Bobcat to win the honor this season with Sakke Siltala picking up accolades on Nov. 1 following a runner-up performance at the Kapolei Invitational.

TXST is back in action February 24-26 at the Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate in Henderson, Nevada.
