SAN MARCOS, Texas — Texas State women's basketball will be back in Strahan Arena for its next two games, the first against Tarleton State on Nov. 25 at 7 pm. The Bobcats will then host Prairie View A&M on Nov. 30 at 2 pm.
Both games will be streamed on ESPN+. Tuesday's game versus Tarleton State will be Thankful Tuesday when fans can bring a canned good to get into the game for free.
SERIES HISTORY VS TARLETON STATE
- Texas State is 5-4 all-time against Tarleton State.
- Their last meeting was last season at Texas State won 71-59 in Stephenville.
- The Bobcats are on a two game win streak.
ABOUT THE TEXANS
- Tarleton State was 20-14 in 2024-25 with a 10-6 record in conference play. They made a second-round exit of the WAC Tournament after a 55-66 loss to UT Arlington. The team made an appearance in the WNIT but lost to Lindenwood in the first round.
- The Texans are led by head coach Bill Brock who is in his third season at the helm of the program. He has a 33-38 record in his tenure.
- Gia Adams is leading the scoring for Tarleton State with an average of 11.0 points per game. She is the only Texan averaging double digits.
- Defensively, Shadasia Bracken leads with 7.0 rebounds a night.
SERIES HISTORY VS PRAIRIE VIEW A&M
- Texas State is 9-5 vs Prairie View A&M.
- The last time these two teams met was on Dec. 2, 2017 and the Bobcats won 84-57.
- Prairie View A&M won last on Dec. 16, 2016 by a 64-60 scoreline. Before that, Texas State was on a four-game win streak.
ABOUT PVAMU
- PVAMU finished the 2024-2025 season with a 10-19 record with a 6-12record in SWAC play. The team made a second round exit from the SWAC Tournament with a 49-69 loss to Texas Southern.
- The Panthers are led by head coach Tai Dillard who is in her first season with the program after spending time as associate head coach at Houston.
- CJ Wilson is leading the scoring for PVAMU with an average of 15.8 points per game. She and Crystal Schultz who is averaging 15.4 points per game are the only Panthers averaging double digits.
- Wilson also leads defensively with 8.8 rebounds a night.
MEET THE ROSTER
- The Freshmen: Texas State has added two freshmen, Angela Carroll and Kaliyah Murphy.
- The Transfers: Texas State has added seven transfers, including three Division I transfers.
- The Returners: Antoine returns four members from 2024-2025 to this year's team.
- Saniya Burks leads the returners for minutes played and points scored last year as she enters her sophomore season. She started the season with a nations-best 34 points against Ohio.
- Taleiyah Gibbs played in 25 games for the Bobcats last season off the bench and returns for her junior season as well.
- Also returning are Mia Galbraith who missed the year with an ACL injury, and Takeira Ramey who missed the latter half of last season with an ACL injury.
UP NEXT
- The Bobcats will head on the road to face another in-state foe at Stephen F Austin on Dec. 6 at 2 pm. That will be the Bobcats final road game of the non-conference slate this season. Fans can tune in on ESPN+.
