Day One Results
MYRTLE BEACH, South Carolina – Texas State opened the 2024-25 men's golf season Sunday at the Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate. TXST currently sits in eighth place at 3-over 291 for the day. Individually, a pair of Bobcats are featured in the top 20 in
Jack Burke and
Sakke Siltala.
Santa Clara leads the 14-team field after the first 18 at nine under, while Coastal Carolina and Campbell sit tied for second just a stroke back.
Burke went 3-under on the opening nine holes, firing five total birdies on the day, and finished at 2-under 70 and tied for 11th for the round.
Sakke Siltala also finished the first day inside the top 20, registering three birdies after the turn following a 1-over start to the day. The junior sits at 1-under 71 and tied for 17th on the individual leaderboard.
Jaxon Donaldson (+1, T39),
Joel Talusen (+5, T74) and
Enzo Dakiche (+5, T74) round out the Bobcat lineup.
Competing as an individual,
Hynek Groh concluded day one action 4-over and tied for 64th.
Round two action resumes Monday with the Bobcats paired with Western Carolina and Maryland teeing off at 8 a.m. ET/7 a.m. CT from No. 1.
