SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State women's tennis wrapped up its third fall tournament on Sunday, after three days of competition at the ACU Wildcat Invite. The Bobcats secured a total of 12 wins throughout the three days of the invitational.Â

Doubles
Texas State had three doubles teams participate in the Wildcat Invite and gathered three wins during the nine matches played, with each doubles team securing a win during the three days of play.Â

Lora/FortunoÂ
Maria Lora and
Sofia Fortuno were featured in Flight A of the doubles portion of the invitational. Lora and Fortuno went one for three on the weekend and secured their lone win on the first day of competition. Their win was a 6-3 victory over UTEP's Carlotta Mencaglia and Hanna Telzynska. The pair dropped their next two matches 4-6 and 6-7(8).

Simme/MauchiÂ
Ireland Simme and
Tadiwa Mauchi were featured in Flight B and went one for three on the weekend in doubles play. Simme and Mauchi dropped their first match 6-7(8) but battled back to win their second match 6-4 versus UTSA's Robinson and Castenada. The pair loss their last doubles match of the invite 3-6.Â

Creath/Mills
Callie Creath and
Chantajah Mills were also featured in Flight B at the Wildcat Invite and earned one win in doubles play. The pairs lone victory came on Friday, when they defeated ACU's Sears and Klinteby 6-4. Creath and Mills dropped their next two matches 4-6 and 3-6.

Singles
Between the six Bobcats featured in singles play at the invitational, they were able to secure nine wins in total during the three days of competition. Each member of the team was featured in three singles matches.Â

Callie CreathÂ
Creath played in Flight A of the singles portion and went one for three during the invite. Her win came on the first day, when she defeated NMSU's Ana Pinaieva 6-3, 6-3. She dropped her next two matches 6(2)-7(7), 3-6 and 1-6, 3-6.Â

Tadiwa MauchiÂ
Mauchi, a freshman from Zimbabwe, dropped all three of her matches in the B Flight of the invitational. Despite Mauchi dropping three matches, she took two of the three matches into the third set, with scores of 6-4, 0-6, 5-10 and 6-4, 4-6, 8-10. Her last match was declared a Walk Over or Wo according to the ITA's official results page.Â

Sofia Fortuno
Playing in Flight C, Fortuno gathered two wins during singles play. Despite dropping her first match 2-6, 2-6, she battled back to win her second match 6-3, 6-3 against UTSA's Natalia Castaneda Guerrero. She ended the invite with a three-set victory over UTEP's Carlotta Mencaglia 7(7)-6(5), 2-6, 10-7.

Ireland SimmeÂ
Simme gathered two wins in the D Flight of the Wildcat Invite. She found wins in her first two matches on days one and two, earning a 6-1, 6-3 victory over UTSA's Katherine Robinson and defeating Nadia Victoria Nemeth of NMSU 7-5, 6-1. She dropped her singles match on day 3 to ACU's Angela Del Campo 6-4, 1-6, 2-6.Â

Chantajah MillsÂ
Mills played in the E Flight and went 2 for three on the weekend in singles play. Her first victory was in her match up against NMSU's Whitney Moon, when she won in straight sets 6-1, 6-0. Her second victory came in a three-set match against Clara Sobius from Tarleton, where she won 7-5, 2-6, 7(7)-6(3). Her lone loss of 1-6, 4-6, came from Paloma Hennicaux of UTEP.

Lora was also featured in the E Flight of the invite and secured two wins on the weekend. Lora found her first win against ACU's Eva Arranz, when she won 3-6, 6-4, 10-8 and found her second win in her match up versus Tarleton's Clara Sobius, which she won in straight sets 6-1, 6-0.Â

Texas State returns to action October 10-14, when it will compete at the ITA Texas Regional Championships in Fort Worth, Texas.Â
