SAN MARCOS, Texas – After playing the previous five matches on the road, Texas State (4-3-3, 0-0-1 Sun Belt) is back home on Thursday when it hosts Marshall (2-3-2, 0-0-1 Sun Belt). Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Bobcat Soccer Complex.

The Bobcats completed their five-match road swing undefeated with a 2-0-3 record that included draws versus Baylor and then 13th-ranked Oklahoma State. This past Sunday saw them open Sun Belt Conference play with a 1-1 draw at Louisiana with the match-tying goal headed in off a corner kick by
Kennley Bradley for her first career goal.
Mady Soumare's five goals this season are tied for first in the Sun Belt Conference while she ranks second in match-winning goals with two. The foursome of
Helen Alormenu,
Sydney Bassa,
Victoria Meza and
Mya Ulloa have scored two goals apiece.
Both
Zoe Junior and Kayle Smith have been credited with three assists apiece. Also with multiple assists on the year are

Between the posts,
Caitlyn Draper heads into Thursday's match with a 0.88 GAA. She leads the Sun Belt with 42 saves and is second with a .875 save percentage. Also seeing action in goal,
Katelyn Chrisman, who has made nine saves in four contests and nearly 289 minutes of action.
About Marshall
Playing for the first time in two weeks this past Sunday, the Thundering Herd opened conference play with a 1-1 draw at Georgia State. They are 0-3-1 on the road with losses to Dartmouth, Harvard and Ohio. Thursday is the first time that Marshall has played in the state of Texas since 2019 when it had contests at Rice and North Texas.
Ebony Leckey leads the squad with two goals and the only other players to find the back of the net has been Bailey Fisher and Angel Fowler. Fisher paces the team with two assists, 24 shots and 15 shots on goal. The next highest shot total on the team is six by Ameilia Compston, Kaisa Ekstrom and Ami Komori.
Alexis Wolgemuth has played all 630 minutes in goal. The junior sports a 0.86 GAA and .846 save percentage with 33 stops.
Series History
Marshall won the only previous match between the teams. That took place on Oct. 23, 2022 in Huntington, West Virginia.
Madi Goss scored the lone Bobcat goal that afternoon while the Herd found the back of the net three times in the second half on their way to a 4-1 win.
