SAN MARCOS, Texas – The midpoint of Texas State's (3-3-1) five-match road swing takes the team to Baylor (5-3-0, 0-1-0 Bix XII) for a 7 p.m. contest on Sunday at Betty Lou Mays Field.

Last weekend saw the Bobcats record an undefeated weekend with a scoreless draw against then 13-ranked Oklahoma State and a 3-1 win at Texas A&M-Commerce. The victory over the Lions was the first for TXST on the road in 363 days with the previous one being a win over Houston on Sept. 10, 2023.
Mady Soumare continues to pace the Sun Belt Conference with two match-winning goals and is second with four goals. Also finding the back of the twice this season has been

About Baylor
The Bears have dropped two straight matches after falling at home on Thursday to Oklahoma State 1-0 in each team's Big XII Conference opener. Prior to Baylor's road loss at Iowa, it has won five consecutive contests following a season opening loss at Mississippi State. At home, the Bears are 2-1-0 with wins over St. Bonaventure and Texas A&M.
Tyler Isgrig leads the squad with three assists, seven points, 26 shots and seven shots on goal. She is also one of four players to have a team leading two goals along with Hallie Augustyn, Callie Conrad and Ashley Merrill. Credited with two assists a piece are Hannah Boughton and Theresa McCullough.
In goal, Azul Alvarez has started all eight matches to record a 0.86 GAA and .829 save percentage with 29 stops. She did leave Thursday's match early in the second half due to injury. In her place, Ashley Zirkel played the final 43:32 versus the Cowgirls and did not have to make a save. She has made one stop on the year while playing a total of 88:32 minutes.
Series History
Baylor leads the all-time series 4-0-1 with all four victories coming in Waco. The lone draw was a scoreless double overtime contest on Sept. 26, 2008 in San Marcos.
The most recent meeting was on Nov. 12, 2011 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament that saw the Bears claim a 3-0 victory. The only time that the Bobcats have scored against Baylor was in the first meeting that ended 3-2 in double overtime on Sept. 8, 2002.
