SAN MARCOS, Texas – The last games of the 2024 regular season takes Texas State (26-27, 12-15 Sun Belt) to the Magnolia State for the first time in program history where it will face Southern Miss (35-17, 18-9 Sun Belt) for a three-game series at Pete Taylor Park.

Both games on Thursday and Friday are scheduled for a 6 p.m. first pitch while Saturday's finale is slated to start at 1 p.m. All three games will be streamed on ESPN+ and live stats will be available.

The Bobcats are coming off a 10-inning setback at McNeese on Tuesday. Last weekend saw them pick up a big series win over then 21st-ranked Troy. Entering the weekend, TXST is tied for 10th in the Sun Belt standings with Georgia State and are one game back of Coastal Carolina, Old Dominion and South Alabama.

Ryne Farber comes in hitting a team best .351 with 35 runs scored, 25 RBI and seven stolen bases. Coming off a game in which he three doubles,
Aaron Lugo is now batting .326 with a team-high 55 runs scored and 13 stolen bases. He also paces the team with 10 home runs while driving in 44. Also hitting over .300 is
Kameron Weil at .321.

Cameron Bush will start the series opener for the fourth time in five weeks and is coming out a standout performance last Friday. For the season, the right-hander is 1-0 with a 3.79 ERA and 23 strikeouts to just six walks in 40.1 innings. Slated to start on Saturday is
Drayton Brown, who is 2-3 with a 2.92 ERA and 45 punch outs over 52.1 innings. Sunday's starter is to be announced.

ABOUT SOUTHERN MISS
The Golden Eagles enter on an eight-game winning streak after defeating Ole Miss on Tuesday night at home. They have also swept their last two series at Arkansas State and against Coastal Carolina. At home, USM is 23-5 with a 10-2 record versus Sun Belt opponents.

Leading the way at the plate is Dalton McIntrye with a .387 average while scoring 40 runs, driving in 28, hitting 10 doubles and swiping 10 bases. Slade Wilks leads the squad with 13 home runs and 53 RBI while batting .322 with 44 runs scored and 14 doubles. Also with double-digit homers is Carson Paetow with 11.

Billy Oldham gets the ball on Thursday and comes into the contest 7-1 with a 3.71 ERA and 83 strikeouts in 77.2 innings. Recording 83 punch outs as well is Niko Mazza, who will start on Friday. The right-hander is 8-3 with a 4.18 ERA in 71.0 innings. Saturday's starter is to be determined.

Last season was the first-ever meeting between the teams. Texas State won the series after claiming the last two games of the set.
