San Marcos, Texas – Texas State women's tennis earned the No. 8 seed in the Sun Belt Conference Women's Tennis Championship Tournament and will face No. 9 seed Georgia State in the second round on Thursday, April 24 at 9 am CST in Rome, Georgia.
The Bobcats (11-7, 5-5 Sun Belt) come into Thursday's match with their best overall record since 2011 and their highest ranking in tournament play since 2021.
Texas State's matchup against Georgia State (9-13, 5-6 Sun Belt), will be the second time the teams face off this season. The Bobcats defeated Georgia State 4-3 on April 7, in a match that was decided in the final set on Court No. 1. Texas State's
Kiana Graham secured the victory for the Bobcats on court one, when she defeated Georgia State's Maria Paredes.
The Bobcats look to build off the momentum from their 4-0 win over ULM to end the regular season and advance to the quarterfinals of the tournament for the fourth-straight time.
If Texas State wins Thursday's match against Georgia State, they will take on the No. 1 seed Old Dominion Friday, April 26 at 9 am CST.
