SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State closes out a five-game homestand on Tuesday against No. 3 Texas A&M on Tuesday at 6 p.m. from Bobcat Ballpark. It will be the 10th time that the Bobcats will take on a top five ranked program in San Marcos and first since battling then No. 1 ranked Texas in 2022.

The Bobcats look to get back in the win column after dropping all three contests this past weekend to Louisiana. They are 5-2 this season in midweek games and have won the last four. Tuesday is the first of three consecutive midweek games against a Power 5 program.

Tony Robie. The senior will be making his fifth midweek start of the season. He is 2-1 with a 5.85 ERA and struck out 23 in 20.0 innings.

ABOUT TEXAS A&M
The Aggies enter Tuesday on a five-game winning streak after sweeping Auburn at home this past weekend. They have won all seven of their midweek games with all but one taking place at Blue Bell Park. The lone exception was a 9-2 victory at Texas on Mar. 5. Texas A&M is 2-2 on the road with both losses coming at Florida.

Braden Montgomery leads the team with a .381 batting average, 16 home runs and 47 RBI. The Stanford transfer has also scored 37 times and hit eight doubles. Jace LaViolette has hit 13 homers with 32 RBI and a team best 40 runs scored. Just shy of double-digit round trippers is Gavin Grahovac with nine while the freshman has plated 34 runs.

Making his second straight midweek start will be Luke Jackson. The redshirt freshman has posted a 4.50 ERA with four strikeouts in 6.0 innings over six games.

Evan Aschenback has earned three saves this season. The senior lefty is also 4-0 with a 0.94 ERA, 0.70 WHIP and 35 strikeouts in 28.2 innings over 11 relief appearances. Posting double-digit games out of the bullpen with an ERA below 2.00 has been Brad Rudis (1-0, 0.56 ERA, 21 K) and Josh Stewart (1-1, 1.50 ERA, 18 K).
