SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State pitcher
Jessica Mullins was named Sun Belt Pitcher of the Week for the third consecutive week following a week with two complete games where she allowed just one earned run.

The senior pitcher earned this honor for the ninth time in her career, the third of this season. This is the second time in her career she has won three consecutive Pitcher of the Week awards, earning three of the accolades in a row between April 19 and May 3 in her sophomore season.

As the Sun Belt Conference Preseason Pitcher of the Year, Mullins is one of just three pitchers in the conference to have been awarded the weekly award this season.Â

Mullins tossed two complete games this week, allowing just one run in 14 innings of work. She struck out 10 of the batters she faced while allowing just seven hits over the two games. Mullins allowed just three extra base hits while walking one batter in two complete games.

She had a complete game shutout in the Bobcats series finale and sweep over Penn State, the 17
th shutout of her career. Mullins held batters to just a .146 average this weekend as she led the Bobcats to two win, the 79

th of her career.

Mullins and the rest of the Bobcats will return to action and start conference play this weekend. With three games at James Madison between Friday, March 15 and Sunday, March 17 against the Dukes. The opening game of the series will have first pitch at 2 pm. All games of the series will be streamed on ESPN+.
